hippies today – the product of capitalism

only rich people can afford to be hippie
(everybody else are pretty busy surviving)
which is not bad per-se (somebody has to!)
if people were a little but more coherent

having an iphone or a car is not what drives me in life
at all
you will be surprised by how few thing i actually own
yet, i’m very careful not to criticize capitalism that naively

so i find it awkward when a snooty kid
who has everything for free (thx daddy, thx mommy!)
who is the ultimate product of capitalism him/herself
plays the hippie

sólo los ricos pueden permitirse ser hippies
(el resto del mundo está ocupado sobreviviendo)
lo cual no es malo per-se (alquien tiene que serlo)
si la gente fuera un pelín más coherente

tener un iphone o un coche no es algo que me interese
vamos, ni de coña
te sorprenderías de las pocas cosas que tengo o compro
aun así me cuido de criticar el capitalismo demasiado a la ligera

así que me flipa a saco cuando un chaval pijo
que lo tiene todo de gratis (gracias papaito/mamaita)
que es él mismo el producto último del capitalismo
juega a hacerse el hippie
